Jenny King

Piggy backing on my “Good vibes only” motto from last year, my saying this year is all about my tribe! Your vibe attracts your tribe. BE A LIGHT!!! Check out my posts for more about me and what I’m doing at Jenny King Photography.

A few years ago I decided that I was going to make my 30s the decade of travel.  Instead of spending my money on material things I wanted to focus more on experience.  I want to see it all & soak in as much knowledge about any & everything.  Be sure to check back often to what I have been up to with blog posts & where JKP plans to go!  Ultimate dream goal: photograph destination weddings…specifically in Paris, France. Swoon.

A dream is just a dream.  A goal is a dream with a plan.

During the month of July my husband & I will be traveling to Paris, France as part of my bucket list trip!  In ultimate Jenny dream world, I hope one day to shoot an editorial wedding there.  I figured if that dream is ever to become a reality, then I need to at least go!  So far on our trip we will be hanging at the Louvre Museum, the Palace of Versailles, Sainte Chapelle & of course, Giverny & the House of Monet.  My husband really wants to see the catacombs, which I know we will but I am so scared!!!  What if a spirit attaches itself to me & comes back home to the states?!  AHHH!!! We will also be having lunch at the Eiffel Tower one day & I HOPE HOPE I can set up a shoot for myself & a couple while I am there.  I also plan to shop til’ I drop but not at the places one might expect.  I am a bargain hunter & I love the antiques!  (Click HERE to see my collection!) We are staying at a hotel 6 minutes from Pont Neuf & there is a flea market right around the corner.  I’ve heard it’s massive!  They also offer worldwide shipping so if I find a piece I think my brides will love, you best believe I will be shipping it back home!

I originally planned this trip because I wanted to go take pictures in Aix en Provence to capture the beautiful lavender fields.  It didn’t work out that we will be able to do that this time so you know what that means…I get to go back!!!

At the beginning of November I will be heading to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic to shoot a destination wedding!  JKP is officially international!!!  My assistant Derrick is along for the ride so I won’t be traveling alone.  I have never been to the Dominican but when I got married in 2014 I was originally supposed to have my honeymoon there.  The week we were getting married, a hurricane hit destroying the airport so severely that no incoming or outgoing flights were able to come through.  Thankfully, we bought insurance for our honeymoon trip & our agent got everything moved over to Jamaica within a day or two.  It was fabulous!  Best honeymoon advice I can give, purchase the insurance!!!!  You never know when you might need it!  Had we not done that, we would of been out THOUSANDS of dollars!!!  It is so worth the extra cost!

Following my trip to Mexico, I will then be jet set to Melia Braco Village, Jamaica for another fabulous wedding for a lovely couple in May of 2019!  The event will be small & intimate & I am so honored to be a part of something so special.

The Kings in Paris, France

So many people have asked me about my recent trip to Paris, France with my husband.  We had such a great time & I feel so special that so many people have asked about it!  I've been trying to put together a 'short' blog of my trip there but let me tell you, it's been…

One of the things I've been told most about wedding photography is that it is too expensive.  Yet, wedding photos are one of the (if not THE one) most tangible things to have from your wedding day.  Many people believe that this is the reason for the high price.  Besides the obvious sentimental value, there…

The Evermore

When Kim first approached me about becoming a preferred vendor at her brand new wedding venue, The Evermore, it was a no brainer.  She is literally creating what every girl dreams of!  Large trees, a big shiplap barn, gorgeous bridal suites...even horses in the background!  Can I get married again?  To the same man of…

Back to Basics Workshop

It's hard to believe that this vision in my head became a reality.  I toyed with the idea of hosting a workshop for months before I actually set the plan to motion.  I was so nervous that no one would come!  Boy, was I wrong.  19 attendees took time out of their schedule to travel…

Eclectic Glam Bride

Finally!  Spring has graced us with all the color!  I started thinking about this shoot back in December.  I decided that once my assistant, Derrick, made the jump & invested in a professional camera, that I would throw a styled shoot as a celebration gift!  We started out looking for the perfect table setting.  I…

Bubble Gum Ballerina

This shoot was one that developed out of thin air.  I had made a post on Instagram asking everyone to tag their favorite ballerinas!  #letsgetcreative  That's when my dear friend, Emily, told me she was going to be in town for spring break to visit family.  She currently attends the University of Oklahoma & is…

This shoot was the most spur of the moment shoot that I have ever done.  Around 10pm Monday night whilst having a glass of wine, I made a Facebook post asking if anyone wanted to have a session in the hypothetical snow that never came.  I was so pumped to see how many people wanted…

AHHH...where do I begin with day two of the La Reverie workshop?  It was a vision.  The team that came together to make such a beautiful shoot are absolutely amazing.  I'm OBSESSED with all the neutral & will never EVER get tired of it.  The details, the cake, the table, the florals, the COUPLE!  Everything…

La Reverie ~ Day One

I recently attended a workshop in a quiet little spot just north of Dallas called Quinlan, Texas.  It's about a 6 hour drive from my home of Victoria & I still can't believe I made that drive in a 10 year old Honda.  That thing is so dependable!  Quinlan is the home of the stunning…

2017 Bar Wars

Bar Wars holds a special place in my heart.  For all those out there who didn't know throwback Jenny, way before my banking & photographer days, I was a bartender for a LONG time.  Some of my favorite people in the world I met during that time in my life & I always enjoy getting…
