This shoot was one that developed out of thin air. I had made a post on Instagram asking everyone to tag their favorite ballerinas! #letsgetcreative That’s when my dear friend, Emily, told me she was going to be in town for spring break to visit family. She currently attends the University of Oklahoma & is a ballet major. She is just so talented & a doll to be around. This will be our 4th time shooting together & every shoot has been so much fun creating!
I’ve had a vision in my head for a Breakfast at Tiffany’s themed ballerina shoot with a side of bubble gum. If you’re an Audrey Hephurn fan then I’m sure you might know what image I drew inspiration from! I also like finding weird places to shoot. As Emily described it; ‘It’s icky with just the right about of pretty.’ Well said, friend! The Town & Country Shopping Center is littered with so many great walls with perfect light! We shot next to a vacant building while we were waiting for the sun to get to the glow. From there we skipped over behind Superfoods (I think it used to be called Michoacana) because there was a pretty pink wall amidst all the grunge! Once the sun was setting, we finished the session over at the vacant building. I LOVE the building at the end of this blog. If I could buy it, I would. Our session was only about 45 minutes long but we made every minute count!
A HUGE thank you to Stevie Nyree for makeup, Stephen Bess for hair & Jade & Madalynn Bridal & Boutique for the gown & tiara. It was like everything was meant to be because it all fell together so perfectly! I had a pearl necklace & bracelet set that was given to me as a gift for being a bridesmaid in my besties wedding. I’m glad I got to bust it out again! Take a look at some of my fav pics from our quick & cute session together!
