Brian & Ruth’s Spring Wedding at Bay City Country Club | A Heartfelt Celebration Under the Oaks
Brian & Ruth tied the knot on a picture-perfect spring day at the Bay City Country Club. After getting engaged over Thanksgiving, they dove headfirst into planning a March wedding, and despite the quick turnaround, it unfolded exactly as they had always dreamed.
Their love story wasn’t rushed. After years of growing together and building a deep, intentional connection, they knew when the time was right, and when it was, it was. They jumped into forever with full hearts and zero hesitation.
Ruth had a clear vision: she wanted their day to feel effortlessly beautiful, sentimental, and timeless. Greenery draped from the columns of the country club, softening the space and adding a delicate, romantic touch. Outside, the oak trees provided a breathtaking canopy for their vows. As they promised each other forever, the sunlight peeked through the branches, casting a golden glow over the ceremony.
It was simple. It was stunning. And it was so them.
One of the sweetest details? Ruth included a pair of Brian’s baby shoes in her flat lay, a quiet, sentimental nod to the journey that brought them to this day.
Their reception was a full-on celebration. Nonstop dancing, laughter, and yes, keg stands. The energy was off the charts and the joy was contagious.
As the night wound down, there wasn’t a formal send-off planned, but I couldn’t let them slip away without one last unforgettable moment. “You’ll never run through a tunnel of your favorite people again,” I reminded them.
Amy, my incredible second shooter, and I noticed the florals were about to be tossed. We made a quick call, ripped the petals off every last rose, and handed them out to guests. In minutes, Ruth and Brian were running hand-in-hand through a cloud of floating petals and cheers.
It was spontaneous, joyful, and completely perfect, the most magical ending to a day filled with heart.
