So many people have asked me about my recent trip to Paris, France with my husband. We had such a great time & I feel so special that so many people have asked about it! I’ve been trying to put together a ‘short’ blog of my trip there but let me tell you, it’s been hard. I took a ridiculous amount of photos while I was there & I probably could of taken more if my arm didn’t hurt from carrying around my camera. I took one camera & one lens in case something happened in travel. I took my back up camera & my 24-700mm 2.8 II lens. I chose this lens because I can get very close shots & very wide shots letting me achieve a variety of looks with only one lens.
After about a 10 hour flight (maybe more maybe less) we arrived safely but exhausted. We took a short nap & shower before hitting the streets on our first night there. I think the thing I loved the most about being there is the light. The sun rises early & sets later. SOOOO many photos. We would get back to our room around 10pm everyday & it was just getting dark. There is food on every corner making it hard to choose what to eat. Our main choice for lunch nearly everyday was a different pizza. Ham is a big deal there. All of the pizza has it along with fresh, cracked eggs. *Insert drool emoji* I’m def going to try making pizza with an over easy fried egg one of these days.
The doors to people’s apartments were incredibly beautiful. I seriously could of made a blog of doors I took so many photos. I wish I new what was on the other side of them all. There were bright & bold colors & also super bougie & ornate ones. I didn’t see a door I didn’t like.
The next day started at the Eiffel Tower. We had escorted tours each day & the tour guides were history majors. We asked & they said it was required for them to have a degree in history in order to have the job. These guys were super smart & I enjoyed learning all the history behind everything. The Eiffel Tower is MASSIVE. It’s really hard to image how big it is just by looking in photos. We headed up to the second floor & took in the views of the city.
We didn’t get much time at the Arc de Triomphe but it has an incredible story. If you ever have the time google it to be inspired. There is a certain spot where you can stand on Champs Elysees & you can get the full Arc behind you. You also might die doing this because it’s in the middle of the busiest & most well known streets in Paris but it might be worth the risk.
The Louvre was another place we didn’t have time to explore! We did get to have our portraits taken there which you will see a little further down in the blog.
After lunch we took a stroll around some quaint streets. There are so many people everywhere!
We stopped off at Montmarte & I got distracted taking photos of a styled shoot that was going on. I thought it was odd to be shooting at 2pm when there are so many people around! It was random & soooo stunning! After our walk we hopped a ride on the Seine River cruise & got to take in the city from water’s view.
The night view is just as gorg as day view! Aaron told me I should get into night photos. I was really diggin’ it.
The next morning started bright & early at the Chateau de Versailles. I have never seen so many people in one place at one time & we got there before the gates open. Again, we had a tour guide who kept us entertained with history while we waited in line. I would of liked to of spent more time here, but the line kept us moving pretty quickly.
I just kept imaging brides all over the place! Pinch me!
The pic below is going to be the inspiration for when I finally decide get my elbow tattooed.
The picture below is one of my favorite images I took there. It is the picture of the ceiling. It was so incredibly beautiful. When we find our new home I am going to put a print of it in my office.
This room was King Louis’ room. The room is massive but the bed was super tiny & it was labeled a ‘King’ size bed. People back then were much tinier than we are now. The bed was very short & not very wide. That is his portrait on the wall.
The hallway of chandeliers was incredible.
I have no idea how I managed to get a shot of these stairways without any people on them!
We headed out to finish the tour in the Gardens. They are BIG. I tried walking through it all but I only got about halfway.
This next part is my favorite part of the whole trip. There are ALOT of pictures from Monet’s house. I can’t even begin to explain how pretty & peaceful it is there. It could move you to tears if you let it. They have 100% kept the integrity of this man & his life’s work. Aaron & I were blown away by it.
Hims so handsome 🙂
Heyoo!!!
I literally could of spent HOURS there taking pictures of only flowers. Aaron uses a lot of images like that for tattoo reference.
This is the room where Monet spent most of his time at home.
I was really inspired by the kitchen. At whatever home we buy, I am going to remodel the kitchen to reflect some pieces from this kitchen. I love the copper with the blue & white tile. LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
Remember that room I mentioned earlier about Monet spending a lot of time in? This is the window from the outside. I could totally get creative in a space like this!
I didn”t have the time to go to Aix en Provence this time but I did get to see some lavendar!
Our next morning started really early. Aaron’s not as early as mine but still early. I was up at 3:30AM curling my hair for this photoshoot we had scheduled at sunrise beginning at Trocadero! I shouldn’t of even spent the time because it was SO STINKIN’ windy! My curls fell within 5 minutes. And it was surprising cold! My teeth were chattering! Never the less, I will cherish these photos forever. I don’t know if we will ever make it back to Paris & I am so thankful we took the time to have these photos taken by Ian Holmes Photography. It was a great time hanging with an English gentlemen & having him take us to all of the perfect early morning spots in Paris. I also want to shout out to All About the Dress for my amazing gown! I literally found it 3 days before we left & it fit me like a glove. My wedding dress has a see through bodice & Aaron said this gown reminded him of my wedding gown because it had one too.
How epic is that bird flying through this photo!!! LOL Ultimate photobomb.
After breakfast & nap we spent our last day strolling around. We stopped at Sainte Chapelle & we were blown away. It almost looks fake it’s so unreal.
I’m pretty sure the building & gates below were to their police station!!!
Last stop was Notre Dame. We actually went here twice trying to get in but the line was so long we were able to go inside.
There was a photoshoot going on here too but it was for bride & groom portraits. The birds are trained for pictures. The photographer throws birdseeds in the air & they fly all in the photos making it super romantic. It was super neat to watch.
I stopped off at Pont Neuf for one last photo before heading off for dinner. Our last night there was super exciting because the world-cup was going on. It was loud & the city was pumped UP. It was a perfect ending to our busy busy trip.
This trip was a bucket list trip for me & I am so blessed I have a wonderful hubby who lets me chase all of my dreams & holds my hand while I do so. Now I think, where next?
