It’s official!!! I am PUBLISHED!!! When I was approached by The One Bride Guide to shoot the cover of their first issue of 2018 I was more than thrilled. I’ve been working with Monica, who is the owner of the magazine, & Alexa, who is her assistant for a little over a year & I have really enjoyed getting to know them & all the wonderful people in the business. They helped put JKP on the map & so many people know of my business now because of them. They are so good to me & I love being a part of the dream Monica has created for herself!
My inspiration for this shoot stems from my love of the modern paired with the classic. 2018 wedding trends are predicting lots of marble & copper & I just LOVE that combo. Throw in a Bentley with a flower garland & a cute lil’ pup named Mango & it just can’t go wrong! Sometimes I feel like it’s easy to get fixated on being different & trying to come up with something new that hasn’t been done before, but I always end up reverting back to simplicity. I LOVE all the different trends that come & go but you can’t mess with a classic bride & black tie husband. The most complicated skill to master is being simple. There is beauty in simplicity. Once you need less, you will have more. It is the absolute best being able to find unsuspecting locations & making them beautiful. This last year I’ve gravitated towards the color green & I don’t see that stopping anytime soon! It was amazing being able to bring a vision in my head (with the help of a fabulous team) to reality in my home town of Victoria, Texas. If you look the right way, you can see that everything around you is a garden.
Every single one of the vendors included in this shoot contributed to the finished product. Make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom for a complete list with links to their respectable websites! I do want to take a moment to talk about Dorothy O’ Connor Pet Adoption Agency. I approached them about using one of their pups in hopes of bringing more light to adoption in our area. The plan was to use some of the images to help get Mango adopted by his dream family & wouldn’t you know, the day of the shoot, Mango got adopted! I mean, of course he would! Permission had to be granted by his new owners to still let him be included in the shoot & they happily obliged. I hope they see this blog so they know Mango made it to the big time!
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of something so beautiful & for everyone trusting my vision! I can’t wait to see what we plan in the future! XOXO
We like to have a good time around here, OK?
Back to business…
Insert my FAVORITE location in downtown Victoria, Texas.
Now insert the most adorable, adoptable lil’ pup named Mango! We all fell for him instantly!
The image you see below made the cover of The One Bride Guide!
Add in an old school Rolls Royce & what else do you really need in life?
You know I live for that ‘veil blowing in the wind’ shot!
