The week leading up to Jake & Andrea’s wedding was nasty, rainy & cold. I tried not to worry about it too much because you know how Texas weather is. Cold one day & hot the next. So, that morning as I got ready to hit the road for the 3 hour drive to Boerne, Texas, I checked the weather. The cold did decide to stick around BUT it didn’t rain. There actually wasn’t a drop in the forecast & it even predicted that the sun would make an appearance around 6pm that day. I knew Andrea had a vision in her head of what she wanted her wedding day to look like & having an indoor ceremony was not a part of the dream.
People it was cold. REALLY cold, but Jake & Andrea are serious champs. Andrea said at one point her mouth was so numb from smiling, that she couldn’t tell by feeling if she was still smiling or not! I don’t think I have ever worked with a couple who were so dedicated to getting outdoor, natural light portraits. I am so grateful for them! I originally showed up with a pair of ballet flats on but quickly made the decision to put on my ugly (but warm) tennis shoes & mittens & I was doing my best to keep my non-cold face on. Andrea was in a gorgeous tulle, strapless ballgown but the cold didn’t even seem to faze her. Nothing could dim the warmth her & Jake share for one another.
The whole day was incredibly sweet. I teared up more than twice at all of the special memories & moments happening right before my eyes. I get just as wrapped up in the moment as everyone else. During the ceremony, Jake choked up talking about how much of an angel Andrea was to him. He mentioned that he was so grateful for her father & knew that he had big shoes to fill. He joked ‘It will be a little easier since we both wear a size 13 shoe!’ IDK if I chuckled more at the comment or that they both have size 13 shoes. That’s a big foot!
The Kendall Plantation was such an elegant setting & I could see why Andrea chose it. It’s classy, grand & beautiful, just like her. The bridal suite was heavenly & the two stories of wrap around porches are what dreams are made of. I had the best time getting to know all of the wonderful people who are so close with Jake & Andrea. Everyone welcomed me with hugs, smiles & kind words. Jake & Andrea are so loved & admired, & it’s easy to see why. I am so lucky my job lets me work with the sweetest couples EVER! Take a look at some of my favorite moments from the day. It was hard narrowing it down to only these!
The newly-weds started their honeymoon off at the Riverwalk in San Antonio & are now headed to Cancun, Mexico for the rest of their trip! A big congratulations to some of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Character is how you treat those who can do nothing for you. XOXO
Daddy daughter first look! Andrea’s Dad made me cry just looking at him. He is so incredibly sweet & loves his family so so much. They make him so proud.
Right before the ceremony, Jake & Andrea each took the time to read letters that one another had written.
It’s official!!! Mr. & Mrs. Kabela!!!
